The project looked at mapping the Architecture and builtscape of Mumbai in 1920’s, reflecting the socio political currents that revolved around the Ambedkarite revolution and dalit resistance movement in the city. The idea was to study how space deals with identity politics, and map the various ways in which, the presense of certain knowledge systems, ideologies, principles and hierarchies is reflected in the architecture that is inhabited by the people.
